We left Tuesday afternoon after packing up the remainder of our lives and loading it into the van. We were so blessed that a group of ladies from Lisa's women's bible study cleaned the house after us, one of them, Leslie did a fantastic job and was there when we left. We drove to Grass Valley and visited with Max and Renee, two missionaries that we met last summer at internship. They have a daughter, Karis, who is Katriel's age and it was nice that the girls could pick up where they left off a year ago.
From Grass Valley we went to Rohnert Park and visited Lisa's childhood friend Anne Marie. It was a really great time. The nice thing about being a Christian is that you are still in fellowship even when you are a part and even though I have not seen Anne Marie in years, it was just like Katriel and Karis, we just picked up where we left off. She has a wonderful husband, Nick and two children Geena and Dominic. Geena and Jaden had a great time playing together.
That night we spent the night at the home of Chris and Brian. Lisa's mother's friends since high school. Chris is a wonderful cook and the girls ate more than their weight! More please! Chris also provided us dinner on the go after our gourmet breakfast. As we arrived we noticed a scraping noise (just what no one wanted to hear). It was the brakes, now we have new ones and don't have to worry about that anymore!
The next stop was Turlock, CA where Lisa's Grandparents live. We made homemade strawberry ice cream and ate most of it! If we keep eating this well, we are in trouble! Lisa's brother drove down from the bay area and we were able to say good bye to him too. We stayed the night there and played with Donkey's down the street and dissected almonds that weren't ready to be picked yet. I love my Grandparent's house. It is rural and gives the girls the chance to learn about a lot of things we can't in the city.
Dinner on Friday was in Victorville, CA with Matthew's childhood friend Marty and his wife Nicole (they are expecting their first child :). It was a wonderful time of visiting and rekindling old friendships.
After dinner we headed to Las Vegas and arrived at 12:30am where it was 93 degrees out! Ugh too hot for the middle of the night! So now we are here and will be until the 5th. We will let you know what exciting adventures happen here (feel free to e-mail as we will have Internet access here). Thank you to all for your prayers, we have felt them with us.
